Grand Seiko Sport Collection Spring Drive GMT Limited Edition

With 20 bar water resistance, enhanced shock resistance, a special Spring Drive caliber that has been adjusted for greater resistance to temperature change, the watch is built to withstand everything that the sea can throw at it. Even the position of the crown adds a new level of security; set into the case at the four o’clock position, the risk of it being knocked or damaged is minimized.

The rotating bezel has 24-hour markers which, when used in conjunction with the GMT hand, allow the watch to indicate three different time zones at the same time, making the watch perfect for international travel on the sea or, indeed, in the air. The dial has a subtle sunburst pattern and a deep, rich color, as if made from the polished mahogany of a yacht’s decking. This limited edition is presented on a steel bracelet with a double safety clasp. In addition, it comes with a strap made of reinforced silicon which has the strength needed for use on deck and yet is still flexible and comfortable on the wrist. The Grand Seiko lion is imprinted boldly on the strap’s retainer. The lion emblem also adorns the case back, alongside the individual serial number (No. 001/600 to No. 600/600) of the watch.

In 2006, just two years after the completion of Caliber 9R65, Grand Seiko’s first 9R Spring Drive movement with GMT function, the Caliber 9R66, was unveiled.

“GMT” stands for Greenwich Mean Time, and uses a 24-hour hand (GMT hand) as the fourth hand on the watch dial in addition to the hour, minute and second hands.
