Breitling and the Australian custom motorcycle and surf outfitter Deus Ex Machina have teamed up once again on a limited-edition Top Time Deus chronograph. It’s the second collaboration between the two brands, following their first sold-out watch release in 2021.
Limited to 2000 pieces, the new Top Time Deus is built for open-road adventure with luminescent indexes and a white lacquered dial contrasted by sky-blue on its subdials and speed-measuring tachymeter scale. While the color scheme is all new, the details that made the first collab so successful are back, including the lightning-bolt-shaped chronograph hand, mushroom pushers, racing-themed calfskin leather strap and caseback engraving of a Deus bike and rider designed by Deus creative director Carby Tuckwell. Each caseback is marked with the “One of 2000” limitation.
“Top Time Deus is a watch that’s easygoing, rugged, and stylish at the same time, just like the person it’s made for. The modern-retro look beautifully complements the way Deus styles its boards and bikes.” Georges Kern, CEO of Breitling
First introduced in the 1960s, Breitling’s unconventional Top Time chronograph became a fast favorite with a stylish in-crowd of café racer and sports car enthusiasts. Men and women were equally drawn to its bold proportions and graphic dials. Today, the Top Time remains Breitling’s watch for bikers, boarders, surfers, and digital nomads — and at 41 mm, it’s a fit for most wrists.
Breitling x Deus: A new lifestyle collection
Each new Top Time Deus comes with a co-branded waxed-canvas travel tote. Breitling and Deus have also partnered on a new line of clothing and accessories that fans of the brands can only get their hands on at six Breitling flagships worldwide (Seoul Hannam, New York Madison Avenue, Milan, London New Bond Street, London Regent Street and Sydney).
A symbol of self-expression for those who crave adventure, the new Top Time Deus is available on Breitling.com, in Breitling boutiques and through selected retailers, while quantities last.
DEUS EX MACHINA
Deus Ex Machina (god from the machine) roared into Australia’s cultural consciousness in 2006, with some neatly customized motorcycles and a quaint notion that doing something is more fun than just owning something. Deus Ex Machina is a step bigger than a brand: it’s a culture. Our openness and enthusiasm strike a chord with people, wherever they are. Deus (“day-us”) didn’t set out only to sell hand-built motorcycles and quality clothing for free spirits, but to celebrate a culture of creativity. All are welcomed under the Deus roof, where there’s respect for the honesty and enjoyment of the machine. Inclusiveness, authenticity, enthusiasm. It’s a simple and sincere pitch that has winged Deus Ex Machina across the world. Deus Ex Machina says simply there’s no “right way” to do individualism, it’s all the same juice.
