There’s an old idea that diver’s watches only belong on the wrists of strapping men who spend half their lives underwater. To confirm that’s a long-outmoded way of looking at high-performance tool watches, Tissot is pleased to introduce a new collection of Seastar models designed to fit any wrist, any time, anywhere.

A new outlook on the world

That’s the thing with a contemporary, stylish diver’s watch. It’s still an ultra-reliable tool, but it’s also the perfect companion for any moment and any wrist. Whether for an idyllic escape or an everyday activity, an elegant, balanced diver’s watch just works.

It’s not just about form or function, though. A diver’s watch also carries the promise that whenever you’re ready for that moment of freedom, it’ll be there for you. A diver’s watch is a portal to adventure, travel and the thrills of a life well lived. On the wrist, it brings a sense of harmony and purpose. All is well. Leading the new Seastar line are Tissot’s Seastar 1000 Quartz and Seastar 2000 Professional Powermatic 80, two high-quality watches born in the Swiss mountains and ready for life in the sea.

The 36mm Seastar 1000 Quartz comes with a shimmering black, blue or white lacquered dial, complemented by yellow-gold or silver details and is supplied on a reassuringly muscular steel bracelet. Owners can switch that up for a rainbow of colourful interchangeable silicone straps, from zesty orange and radiant white, to calming light-blue and technical-looking black. It’s water-resistant up to 30 bar (300m / 1000ft) and has a uni-directional rotating bezel for timing dives.

Alongside it, the 46mm Seastar 2000 Professional Powermatic 80 line of automatics offers advanced performance, and every bit as much versatility. Visually, it’s defined by its muscular silhouette – in stainless steel, with a black PVD-coated option – and wave-motif dial, in either black or a marine-inspired blue to black gradient. It’s equipped with a Powermatic 80 automatic, anti-magnetic movement, up to 60 bar (600m / 2000ft) of water resistance, a ceramic uni-directional rotating bezel, a screw-down crown with protection, Super-LumiNova® detailing, an automatic helium escape valve and ISO 6425 (2018) diver’s watch certification.

While considerations of the Seastar’s performance and reliability formed the backbone of Tissot’s creative and engineering process, deeper considerations of style and versatility were always front of mind, too. In today’s world, the lines that fall between work and play, formal and informal, day and night, and male and female have faded. A tool watch, even one designed to be water-resistant up to 60 bar (600m / 2000ft), can still be chic, elegant, stylish.

The Seastar 1000 Quartz and Seastar 2000 Professional Powermatic 80 both have huge crossover appeal – one-watch wardrobe solutions. They’ll always help you stand out with confidence, no matter where you are, and be on hand to transport you to the underwater world.
