The Chronograph 718 Cayman GT4 RS combines the style-defining design elements, materials, and high-performance qualities of the four-wheeled 718 family, and brings the character of the Porsche marque to the wrist. The timepiece is powered by the Porsche Design WERK 01.200 caliber, which is equipped with rare technical finesse: the flyback mechanism, which permits the starting, stopping, and resetting of successive time intervals in just one operation.
The automatic movement has been certified by the Swiss COSC testing institute, guaranteeing the highest precision and performance – not just when it is worn at the racetrack, but also when taking on everyday challenges and adventures.
Optimized for the racetrack – and beyond
One of the basic concepts of the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS is that less is more – at least when it comes to weight. That is why titanium is used for some of the engine components that are constantly exposed to extreme stress. This exceedingly tough and incredibly light, high-tech material is perfect for withstanding heavy loads, and is used for parts such as the connecting rods.
The lightweight construction concept applied to the vehicle is reflected in the new Chronograph 718 Cayman GT4 RS, which, like all Porsche Design timepieces, has a titanium case. The wristwatch’s relationship to the motorized 718 finds expression in other refined details: the matte black and anti-reflective dial, for example, is inspired by the sports car’s rev counter.
Just like the elements on the pared-back and highly modern instrument panel in the cockpit, the Signal Yellow sub dials and hands of the chronograph contrast with the dial. The ‘GT4 RS` logo and stylized checkered flag on the running second at 9 o’clock make the purpose of this timepiece instantly clear – it is ideal to be worn at the racetrack. A colored ring in Arctic Gray also adorns the dial’s rim.
Two different case colors – black or titanium – and two types of bezel are available, while the individual ring can be adapted to match the vehicle color. In addition, a special GT4 RS watch strap is available, made of the same black leather used in the vehicle as well as black Race-Tex with ‘GT4 RS` embossing and decorative stitching in Arctic Gray or Deep Sea Blue. Additional straps can be ordered, made either of titanium or genuine Porsche interior leather in various colors, making it possible to alter the chronograph to suit any occasion or personal design preference.
The Chronograph 718 Cayman GT4 RS can be further individualized in Germany, United Kingdom, USA and Switzerland. As a result, the timepiece not only bears the distinctive Porsche signature, but also that of the owner. Each Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS customer who configures their timepiece will be issued an individual code with which to place their order at their authorized local Porsche dealer.
