Singer Track1 Flamboyant Red Edition – The Chronograph Reimagined

Singer Reimagined was born from the encounter between Rob Dickinson, Founder and Executive Chairman of Singer Vehicle Design, and Italian entrepreneur and watch designer Marco Borraccino. The company was created to reimagine high watchmaking, combining obsessive attention to detail, unique perspectives and a love for the iconic sport watches of the 1960s and 1970s.

Singer Reimagined would be guided by the same philosophy behind Singer’s automotive endeavours – A Relentless Pursuit of Excellence. The duo was soon joined by master watchmaker Jean-Marc Wiederrecht who would provide a revolutionary chronograph movement to power their first opus, named Track 1.

With Track1, Singer Reimagined redefined the chronograph. Its revolutionary movement, the AgenGraphe, was ten years in the making and goes beyond the limitations imposed by preceding mechanisms. All chronograph functions are brought together on a single central dial, enabling a radical focus on legibility and performance.

The time of day moves to the periphery of the dial where it is displayed by the small pointer at 6 o’clock, floating just above 2 rotating hours and minutes discs.

Singer represents a philosophy simply expressed as A Relentless Pursuit of Excellence. In the automotive world this philosophy enables owners to pursue a personal vision for their ultimate air-cooled Porsche 911. In the world of watchmaking, the same philosophy combines iconic DNA with cutting-edge engineering and material science, in pursuit of jewel-like timepieces.

Singer Reimagined obsessively searches for ways to enhance every elemental strand of design. This endeavor is fueled by the belief that there are no shortcuts and that beauty comes from an unflinching need to optimize function.

Inspiration for our designs is born out of a fascination with the golden era of analogue mechanical watch design. It is driven by a passion for the sport classic watches of the 1960s and 1970s, by love for the engineering complexity of the automatic chronograph and by the authentic connection between automotive and horological worlds. From those strands of DNA, Singer pursues a definitive vision for the chronograph.

Black & red are powerful colors that work perfectly together. No colors have inspired as many novels, paintings and movies as these two colors. The red colour featured in the Red Flamboyant Edition evokes passion and warmth. The colour shifts with the light, creating a unique iridescent flame effect.

The AgenGraphe caliber powering the Singer Track1 stands apart from all previous chronograph movements. A decade in development, this groundbreaking piece of mechanical ingenuity redefines fundamental principles that have remained unchanged for decades. The underlying idea that led to the invention of the AgenGraphe was to enhance the legibility of the chronograph – which is usually poor – with the use of small counters spread out across the dial.

Thanks to a radically new architecture, the AgenGraphe brings together all the chronograph functions in the center of the watch, allowing for an easy and intuitive reading of elapsed time.

To further enhance legibility, the chronograph incorporates jumping minute and hour indicators. To connect the chronograph mechanism to the timekeeping gear train, the AgenGraphe features an innovative clutch mechanism. The coupling is made horizontally which requires less space, yet it is made using friction, just like a vertical clutch.

The dial-side rotor (made possible because the hands are on a central axis) leaves an unimpeded view of the movement and its 477 meticulously hand-finished parts.

The Singer Track 1 collection grows with this limited series of 25 numbered pieces. The signature, lightweight grade 5 titanium case is presented with a new, circular brushed finish and contrasting hand-polished edges. The deep red dial is enhanced by sunray and circular brushed finishing, A black, technical textile strap features red stitching to match the dial. Screw-down titanium rivets in black DLC are a subtitle reminder of the signature seat design from the Porsche 911 reimagined by Singer.
